Misery's Return

Faith and I after 8 hours of hiking Haitian mountains!

(I'm the white guy.)

We're back. There are as many stories to tell as there are minutes in a day. But for now it's time to digest. I left plenty of my skin, tears, blood, laughter, and even a little weight in Ferrier, Haiti...so stories-a-plenty will undoubtedly come. Additionally, Faith and I took over 400 snapshots, many of which will be shared here.

In the meantime, enjoy this morning's addition. Please continue to pray for Faith and me as we discern our next steps.

The Haitians who are lucky enough to make it to America to live often refer to their life in Haiti as "the misery". For me, there is a type of relief in being back home, but also a very deep sadness at leaving my old friends in Ferrier.

What is this misery? For Haiti? For America? For me? For those close to me?

An expression of hope or despair?

Not to detract from the seriousness of your post - your beard is getting so thick and long! You're practically Amish! =)

Haha...thanks Kurt! In Haiti, if I wasn't being called 'Jesus', then it was 'Osama Bin Laden' because they all hear that Bin Laden is white and has a beard. Therefore, I fit the bill.

I'd much prefer Amish!
