Road Trip

Family Dowdy has been on the road for the past couple of weeks--Si is getting to meet all of the Dowdy's in Virginia! We'll be here in Vinton until October 17th so that Si can share his poo, coos, and goo with all his relatives. In the meantime, Faith and I are raising support for Kazakhstan while here.

Computer troubles abound, so in lieu of some recent snaphots of Silas and Co., here's a few nuggets of truth that Faith and I have learned since becoming parents:

5. The sound of your own baby's cry is much more of a relief than an annoyance
4. It's really not so bad to have spit-up stains on your shoulder
3. Sleep is WAY under-appreciated
2. Beware ye of projectile poop
1. NEVER stick your finger inside of your baby's diaper to check if it is dirty

Amen to that.

(I hope to have some photos up shortly.)

Week 1 of Silas

Week 1 of parenthood has been an absolute joy! Diaper duty and sleepless nights are embraced as signs of life. There's plenty of pictures to go around. To see the photos the hospital took of Silas, go here. In the meantime, here's a look at week 1.

Who do you think is more exhausted from Silas' first week on the outside, Silas or Daddy?
